Bulldogs News · Friday was a great night to be a Bulldog, two big wins and a great showing by the band!

Friday night was opening night for the 2018 football season and the Bulldogs opened up their season against RL Turner at Farrington Field. The Bulldogs came out of the gates and put it to them scoring a touchdown in the first quarter  then putting up twenty six points in the second quarter opening up a thirty three to zero halftime lead. RL Turner scored a touch down in the third but that is all they had with the Bulldogs answering that touchdown in the fourth quarter for a final score of 40-7. Quarter back Izziah Yvanez accounted for 256 yards with 224 of those yards going to Gabriel Woodard. The Bulldogs totaled 448 total yards of offense while only allowing RL Turner 142 yards. The Bulldogs came out on the right foot and hope to carry that through to this weeks opponent. The JV team will host Godley here at Trimble Tech this Thursday September 6th, while the varsity will travel to Godley Friday for a scheduled kick off of 7:30 PM.

I would also like to give a shout out to Mr. Belk and Mr. Reinhart who came in this year to fill the shows Mr. Colvin left after his retirement. At this point, after what I saw and more importantly what I heard, there are great things ahead for the band in the 2018-19 school year and beyond as those to have the band going in an awesome direction. Congratulations to you two gentlemen and your band as they sounded awesome all night long.

Another shout out, with little direction, my student trainers did an awesome job last night in every aspect. Its going to be a long season and I am very happy to have such amazing young lady’s helping me out!

The Lady Bulldogs also came up with a big win, a five set victory over district opponent Arlington Lamar. After a first set 25-20 victory the Lady Bulldogs fell behind 2-1 in sets before winning the final two sets 25-19 and 17-15 to claim an important district victory. They are currently 2-0 in district play and are set to face Arlington in Arlington Tuesday night at 6:30 with sub-varsity teams playing at 5:30 then the return home September 7th when we host Bowie with varsity set to play at 6:30 and sub-varsities playing at 5:30. So if you can’t make the trip down to Godley, swing by Tech and cheer on the Lady Bulldogs!
