Bulldogs News · Just a sophomore and Kenondra Davis brings home Silver from the 6A UIL State Track Meet a year removed from medaling at the 5A classification.

As a freshmen students are suppose to get acclimated to their new surroundings and as far as sports are concerned in larger high schools slowly work your way up to the varsity level. Track is a different monster as it is individual sport for the most part however it is still uncommon for a freshmen to make her mark. Kenondra Davis did just that, as a freshmen, not only did she get to the UIL State Track meet a year ago but she claimed gold medals in the 5A 100 and 200 meters. After that track meet the UIL went through their realignment process that found Trimble Tech now in the 6A classification which meant new competition in arguably one of the faster regions in the state. This didn’t stop Kenondra as she returned to Austin and the UIL State Track Meet qualifying again in the 100 and 200 meters. This year Kenondra was able to obtain a silver medal in the 100 meters in a time of 11.60 seconds. In the 200 meter dash Kenondra was unable to get onto the podium but ran an amazing time of 22.64 seconds. Kenondra had an amazing track season, she should be congratulated along with Coach Brookins and Coach Wilson. Trimble Tech is very proud of you and look forward to what the next two years have for you! Keep up the great work!
