Bulldogs News · Fort Worth ISD Schools CLOSED at this point until March 30th, UIL releases statement. . . . . . Updated – free lunch locations, eight schols

For those who might have heard, or asked someone in the lines at your local Walmart, Sam’s, or Costco (from what I hear you had plenty of time to talk to those in front or behind you) Fort Worth ISD are closing their doors until March 30th. Here is the link to the official letter posted on the Fort Worth ISD webpage: FWISD COVID-19 Statement

Updated information to include list of schools offering free lunch at eight school at various times: Free lunch locations during two week closure

Whether you would like to call it a closure or an extended spring break, during this time all employee and student travel have been canceled. The cancelation include athletic competitions, district competition and UIL competition. This includes open gyms and strength conditioning sessions. We would encourage of our Trimble Tech Athletes to follow all public safety recommendations and reframe from gathering in public places.

UIL has released a statement:

To support the health an safety of our students and communities, the University Interscholastic League is suspending all UIL sanctioned due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Texas. Effective March 16, all UIL interscholastic competition is suspended through March 29th.

As this is a fluid situation, please check back for updated status and or on the FWISD website. If you are an athlete, you can contact your coaches but again there are to be no organized workouts as FWISD is essentially shutdown. If I get a timeline from the UIL of events and when they will start that will be posted here in an update. For those who used or got food from school, that is currently being worked on and I will update if I hear anything in that regard. The district is working with vendors to hopefully work out a situation in which food can be picked up in a to go situation.
