Bulldogs News · The UIL requires a student athlete to be cleared by a physician if they have tested positive for Covid-19.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to make sure this is clear so that everybody understands. The UIL is the governing body for high school athletics and here is the link to the UIL Covid-19 information:

UIL Covid-19 Information

In this information it states: “In addition to the criteria and processes described above, a student who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 must receive clearance from a physician prior to returning to participation in UIL marching band or athletic activities.

As you can see, although the school district does not require positive Covid-19 students be cleared by a physician, the UIL does for student-athletes.

If you don’t have a primary care physician, a place to start might be the JPS School Based Clinics: JPS School Based Clinics
